Unique Perspective Offers Experience and Expertise to Help Couples Resolve Disputes

Randy Michel is a College Station Divorce AttorneyMy name is Randy Michel, and over the past 37 years, I’ve worn nearly every hat the legal system has to offer. Couples can rest assured I will examine their divorce from every angle possible, as I’ve spent 27 years as a board certified attorney, 14 years as a Judge and 8 years as a mediator.

With an undergraduate degree from Baylor, a Masters in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma and a law degree from the University of Kentucky, I’m trained to provide insight and support to help individuals navigate the complicated maze that is the legal system. My thorough knowledge of the court, sensibility and effectiveness have earned me the distinction of being selected as a “Super Lawyer” by Texas Monthly for five years, recipient of the Barbara Weathers Walker (Bar Association’s) Pro Bono Award (only lawyer in Brazos County to receive the award twice) and have been presented the Award of Merit by the State Bar of Texas for 1996-97, as President of Brazos County Bar Association, in recognition of the most outstanding Bar Association in Texas for Class II (membership size between 110 – 220 members).

It’s important to remember divorce and legal matters are not always about winning or losing, and that lives, people, families and futures are at stake when disputes arise. Through my experience with the collaborative process, interdisciplinary training through Collaborative Divorce Texas and involvement with several practice groups and professional associations, I work constantly to fully understand the law and help couples craft creative resolutions that will benefit their family, children and futures for years and decades to come.

I currently live in Bryan and practice in College Station, where I enjoy serving local high schools as a judge for speech and debate events, as well as attending Crosscentral Church and Recovery Center, and a men’s non-denominational Bible study called Renegades. I have a son, Mark, who is a financial advisor for JP Morgan Chase in Dallas, and a daughter, Natalie, who teaches special needs kindergarteners in San Antonio, and is also mother to my only grandchild, Hallie, who is the most adorable little girl you’ll ever meet. In my free time, I love playing and watching sports, swimming, reading and anything that has to do with the Civil War, such as visiting battlefields, watching reenactments or collecting Civil War era rifles.
